Mystic Acts feels delighted and honoured to perform their popular historical play ‘Jallianwala Bagh’ in association with National School of Drama as a part of the “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – 22nd Bharat Rang Mahotsav “on 4th August, 2022 at Amritsar. We are confident that we would perform this play at the peak of our powers and make it a memorable experience for everyone involved. You all are welcome to watch the play.
ABOUT THE PLAY
Jallianwala Bagh is a play dedicated to the lives of Indian revolutionaries. The play reveals the extreme prejudice shown by the British towards the Indian citizens and the brutal ways to suppress dissent among the locals.
The play starts with the background voice over which immediately catches the audience’s attention. The story starts with meetings of Indian freedom fighters (krantikaari). They discuss their fight against the injustices of the British. This leads to the British ordering to fire bullets into the crowd on the villagers who were attending the Baisakhi festival. The play also salutes Sardar Uddham Singh who took revenge of the massacre by assassinating Michael O’Dwyer, the Lieutenant Governer of Punjab at the time of the tragedy.
